Avocado oil

Avocado oil is obtained by mechanical extraction from the flesh (seed and skin are removed). First, the pulp is reduced to a paste and then, treated for 50-60 min at 45-50°C. Secondly, the oil from the oil-containing cells is extracted. Finally, high-speed decanting centrifuges separate the oil from the water and the rest of the paste (read more here).

Avocado for Skin | Uses and DIY Recipes

Avocado used in the form of fruit or as oil is a very versatile ingredient and therefore easily usable in doing it yourself beauty recipes, of different levels of difficulty. The simplest way is sure to use it is to make simple face masks.

Avocado and Honey Face Mask

A simple, fast, and effective recipe is to use the pulp of half avocado in face masks. With the help of a fork, it will be easy to reduce the avocado to a pulp, and then we can add all the ingredients we want. I, for example, used yogurt and honey to enrich the face mask and give brightness and elasticity to the face.

Avocado in DIY Skin Cream

When, instead, we want to use avocado in creams for the skin or serums, it is preferable to use it in the form of oil and therefore benefit from its nutrients. Being its viscosity “medium”, I prefer to use it in creams mixed with other oils having different viscosities, so as to have a cream that is not too oily. In my blog, I have posted some recipes about face or body creams in which I have used avocado oil:
